Salary: Associate Lecturer Scales 1 – 4, £21,506 - £25,380 per annum, pro rata. Main Grade Scales 1 – UP1, £27,382 - £39,357 per annum, pro rata (for qualified lecturers)

Job description:
As one of our lecturers at NPTC Group of Colleges you will carry out a full range of teaching duties and administration associated with the delivery and management of learning programmes as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- To teach, deliver and coordinate a range of ESOL learning programmes to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners across all areas of the college;
- To take responsibility for additional duties to meet the demands of the curriculum;
- To promote and deliver ESOL within the curriculum;
- To play a key role in the development of the curriculum;
- To work effectively within course teams;
- To liaise with colleagues and external organisations as required;
- To assess and verify learners’ assignments, portfolios and course work;
- To monitor and provide reports on learner progress as required;
- To demonstrate commitment towards pastoral care and academic progress of learners and provide appropriate guidance for progression;
- To attend regular meetings as required e.g. course team, Quality, learner reviews, parents’ evening and INSET events;
- To complete administrative procedures as required e.g. class registers, statistical returns, examination entries etc;
- To play an active role in marketing, recruitment and enrolment;
- To play an active role in internal moderation/verification and Quality issues;
- To help to develop and organise appropriate educational visits and events, as required;
- To undertake learner workplace assessment duties, as required;

Skills & attributes:
Our ideal applicant will have a teaching qualification, although training may be provided, along with a level 6 qualification (degree or equivalent) in the subject area, have relevant experience (ESOL/EFL/TESOL/TEFL/TESL) and possess a level 3 qualification in ESOL/EFL/TESOL/TEFL/TESL/CELTA/DELTA or equivalent. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are also required (GCSE or equivalent). With the impact the digital world is having on teaching and learning candidates will also need to be IT literate to at least level 2.
